This castelfranco-type chicory yields beautifully blanched heads with speckled flecks of red. Best suited to summer plantings and fall harvest. Leaves are sweet with mild bitterness when harvested in the fall after cool weather has set in. A great introduction for newcomers to radicchio and other chicories. May bolt if spring planted.
