This slightly flattened red onion is a strong performer in the northwest with vigorous growth in less than ideal conditions. From the same breeders as Cabernet, it is slightly later to mature, but larger in size and performs better in stressful conditions producing uniformly shaped and easy to cure onions. It is well suited to production from transplant. Bulbs store well 4-6 months, with good color contrast even after storage.
