This purple sprouting broccoli follows after Red Matador for the late winter/early spring slot. When seeded mid June and transplanted into the field mid July, these large-framed plants yielded two flushes of harvest starting mid to late February. Long, semi-leaved stems with bright purple florets withstood many nights below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, and were easy to bunch or sell as florets. Plant at the same time as Red Matador and Red Fire and get a long harvest window.
