Ground Cherry Growing Information
Physalis pruinosa
Transplant:Start in trays 6-7 weeks before desired transplant date. Seeds germinate slowly, up to 2 weeks, so make sure to keep soil adequately moist. Soil temperature for germination is 70-90° F. Seeds will not germinate in cool soil. Plant outdoors after last frost.
Spacing: 18-24” apart in rows 3-4' apart.
Growth needs: Does not require trellising.
Harvest: When husks begin to open exposing fruit that is a bright golden yellow color. Can withstand some light frost.
Storage: Store above 50° F for up to 3 months.
