Soybean Growing Information
Direct Seed: Sow after last frost. Make sure soil has warmed to above 65° F. Soil temperature for germination is 65-85° F. Can be seeded every 1-2 weeks for an extended harvest.
Spacing: 3” apart in rows that are 12-24" apart, at 1” depth.
Growth needs: Well-drained, warm soil in climates that have a long warm season.
Harvest: For fresh beans, harvest when pods are fully plump and pod color just starts to yellow. For dry beans, harvest whole plants when at least 90% of leaves have fallen.
Storage: Fresh pods placed in a cooler will store for 1 week for fresh use. For long-term storage, make sure beans are completely dry.
